In September of 2014, we took a family trip to Lone Star Jelly Stone Park in Waller, Tx. And when I say a family trip I mean Family Trip, in total we had 12 people on this trip and it was amazing. Fun fact, this was the first time I've ever ridden and stayed in an RV. I highly recommend Lone Star Jelly Stone Park if you want a fun place to stay for the whole family and if you're looking for a place to stay for about a week. They have so much to offer and to keep everyone busy for your entire stay. We stayed in an RV for our stay but if you're looking for a nice place to rent, there are cabins and tent sites. My brother-inlaw and his family stayed in the cabins near the fishing areas and let me tell you, those cabins were amazing. They had a working stove, in-house plumbing, a tv, an enclosed patio, and a fire ring.
But back to our trip. After the drive, we got there when it was pretty close to dark. We set up the Rv and got the campfire going. Each RV site has its own fire ring for safe fire fun. We all sat around the fire while roasting marshmallows and hotdogs. All the RVs around us had their own set ups, some with cookouts, some with their own lights strung out, and some playing music. It was a lot of fun.
That next morning we got up early to do a few of the activities that are provided for guests of the park. Depending on when you go to the park, the activities do change so I recommend looking over their website just to be prepared. Most weekends at Lone Star Jellystone Park have a fun theme. I think it makes it more interesting. When we went it was Yogi's Birthday Bash. We did lots of things such as painting mugs and figurines. They even had a little train that would take you around the whole park. My kids really liked waving to everyone as we zoomed by. But this park really has so much to offer.
They have a good sized waterpark with water slides and fun water play areas. And the lifeguards are really nice. My older daughters managed to slip and scrape up their knees while playing and one of the lifeguards gave both of them free ice cream to help the feel better.
This park is designed to keep everyone busy and have fun at the same time. I already mentioned the waterparks, waterslides, and different activities, but they also have an enclosed play area (that my kids loved), evening movies outside on a big screen, train rides, mini-golf, and an inside arcade.
They also have fishing! While you won't catch any big fish on their "lakes", the kids will still have a good time catching little fish, if the turtles don't grab your bait first.
The morning that we left they had a nice big pancake breakfast. We sat together as a family and talked about how much fun we had. We hope to come back to Lone Star Jellystone Park again with the whole family.
I highly recommend Lone Star Jellystone Park to any family. You'll never be bored.
