What a trip! Let me tell you, we had an amazing time staying at the Schlitterbahn Beach Resorts in South Pare Island. I really enjoy staying at a place that can keep my family busy. There’s nothing worse than hearing the words, “I’m BOOOORED!” when your supposed to be having a good time. I promise we didn’t hear that once on our trip. In fact that was replaced with a constant, “HURRY UP! WE WANA GO TO PLAY!!” lol

It was all we could do to slow the kids down and get ready. My husband and I wanted to take in the view of our Luxury Double Queen Resort room. The rooms were the perfect size for a family of 5. We had 2 nice queen sized beds, with flat screen tv, hidden mini-fridge, and microwave. And the decor was beautiful. The bedside table where large chunks of wood. My husband and I had a fun time talking about how hard it must have been to get those up to the 4th floor. lol
Then we took the journey the elevator. The Resort itself is beautiful. Everywhere it was decorated with Christmas Trees and beach decor. There was even a huge fish tank in the lobby. We made our way past the Souvenir Shop and out to the enclosed swim area where my kids went nuts! While the weather outside was pretty amazing for the middle of December, I can see how even in the coldest of months this area will keep you warm and toasty.

The first step to fun was taking pictures with Santa! The Schlitterbahn Beach Resort sure knows how to make kids smile! We got an awesome family photo and then had our pancake breakfast.

Soon after the kids were practically begging to go play. They could see from their seats, a huge pirate ship called Pirates Cove and that’s where we headed to first. This are is made for small kids and with lifeguards everywhere I felt at peace with letting them explore. It gave me a piece of mind that I don’t normally get when we are around water. This section had kids crawling all over it. And who could blame them, if I was smaller I would be inside the giant silly submarine or under the raining mushrooms! And I will admit that did go down the slides on the pirate ship. How could I resist!? lol

But a huge hit was the water slides! Blackbeard’s Twister and Lafitte’s Cyclone had my calves aching for days. My kids went up and down and up and down. That was a work out! lol But to see the smiles on their faces as the rode the inner tubes all the way down was worth the aching and awkward walking. lol

I decided it was time to take a break from the water so we went to check out the Grand Carousal and the MegaBlast! These are two great ares for anyone who doesn’t want to get wet. The MegaBlast is pretty awesome. I had to get in there. It’s a fun multi-story play area/obstacle course where kids can go crazy! They had a blast loading up on soft foam balls then shooting them at me from up high. Balls were flying everywhere and kids were screaming with joy!

After abut 6 hours of non-stop playing we decided to take a little walk to see what else there was outside. That’s when we found the Holy Grail of swimming pools! It was the Palapa Swim Up, a heated pool with a swim up bar. I mean come on! I even asked if I could just sleep down here. The water was so warm and inviting and the bartenders were friendly. They sure could make one heck of a Bloody Mary! lol We met many parent’s looking to take a break from all the excitement inside.

After a long relaxing soak we took a trip around to Seaside Bar & Grill. If your going to take a trip here, I highly recommend stopping by the Seaside Bar & Grill. No only is the food amazing but the view will take your breath away. It’s sits directly on the beach. We could hear the waves crashing as we ate. And a plus, the kids ate quickly so they could get their feet in the sand.

This was actually my youngest’s first time experiencing the beach. And I’m happy that we got to make that memory at Schlitterbahn Beach Resorts. We made a ton of memories here. I can’t wait to come back many many times. It was well worth the long drive. The people who work there are friendly and the attractions are amazing. We stayed the weekend and still didn’t get to experience everything that Schlitterbahn Beach Resorts has to offer.
