Head to the heart of downtown to discover the history of Buffalo Bayou and Houston!
This engaging walking tour recounts / explores the development of the city we know today through an exploration of architecture, ecology, public art, and more. Experience fascinating historic buildings, witness the formation of a new Mexican Free-tailed Bat colony, and uncover a few local secrets all along the unique bayou trails winding through downtown Houston.
Every first Saturday of the month until December.
Cost: 12 and over: $5 / Children under 12: Free
Duration: 9 - 10:30am (90 minutes / 1.5 miles)
Meeting Location: Allen's Landing at Main St (1005 Commerce St)
Comfortable clothing, good walking shoes and sun protection, and a water bottle are recommended.
