The Childrens Museum of Houston is 2009 Nickelodeons Parents Pick Awards Best Museum in Houston and is the only childrens Museum in Texas to receive a 5-star nationwide rating from Citysearch.com. Serving more than 750,000 people annually, the Children's Museum of Houston is the highest-attended youth Museum in the country for its size. The Museum is dedicated to transforming communities through innovative, child-centered learning and offers 14 galleries of hands-on exhibits and innovative bilingual learning programs for kids ages birth to 12 years. The Museum operates as a 501(c)(3) under the direction of a Board of Directors and is located at 1500 Binz in Houstons Museum District. Admission is $8 per person and $7 for seniors 65+.      The mission of the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center is to provide education about the natural environment to people of all ages and to protect and enhance the Arboretum as a haven and as a sanctuary for native plants and animals. The Houston Arboretum & Nature Center (HANC), one of the first nature education facilities for children in the state of Texas, provides services to nearly 200,000 visitors annually. The Arboretum also provides nature education for more than 10,000 children annually.
